Now a brief summary from what i have read so far.
- Runs hot (ave from reviews is 95/97 degrees celcius but Nvidia claim it is safe to 105c …whoopdeedoo)
- Runs loud (average at 87/100% fan is 65 decibles upwards…anyone have a harley with a straight through pipe taped tto their ear?)
- IS faster than the competition (all reviews show at least 15/20% boost over a 5870 and in some cases faster than a 5970…but only rarely)
- IS NOT as fast as hoped as it seemed to be a tad hobbled from what was the rumoured release so some are a bit miffed.
- Seems to be a bit of a paper launch as retail chains aren’t letting on for the most part about when where and how we the consumer can get one.
So after …what…6 months or so since the 5xxx is released this is waht we get? hmmmm seems a tad off to me.
BUT
It shoudl lead to price drops from both sides which will help cushion the blow and maybe even allow you a LN2 setup to cool the card
