27 Jun

 http://www.megaupload.com/?d=KYXNVKC8

only for windows xp 32/64 so far

ok on a side note.

I have managed to installed the new CCC panel from this driver in vista business x64 and it works.

nice new but and dropdown menu approach that works well.

the drivers not so much luck.

But if you want to see what the new CCC panel will look like just install from the CCC panel.

ok someone snavvled the 9.7 vista/win7 version

seems megupload link is dead so good luck finding it :p

ok found it

http://www.pctreiber.net/filebase_redirect.php?fid=9507

 8.63 090614 Vista Win7.rar

have not tried them yet but i,ll see how they go (Seems they are a x32 and x64 all in one and maybe an avivo fix also whql)

As for the drivers, they work very well and so far no issues.

Games seem ok no big chnages…maybe an odd drop in hl2 lost coast but it may be an anomoly.

ut3 still right up there.

now all we need is for them to release the damn things…july is nearly gone boys…hurry up :)

Catalyst 9.6 released

16 Jun

All drivers are there and loaded including avivo.

I will havce a couple of benches to compare it to the 9.6 leaked drivers(driver file is the same but CCC is newer) later.

Avivo converor in vista x64 does not work still…pops up unsupported file no matter what i throw at it…so avivo still broke(converter at least)

Trolling through the internet came accross these.

Win xp

win 7 patch for vista drivers

I will give them a run and see what is different than the cyberlink support release from AMD a few days ago.(i have not tested the win7 or xp versions)

Ok quick rundown.

i tried overinstalling over the 9.5 support drivers and it went ok BUT lost the monitor. a quick uninstall and reinstall fixed that. This is on a 4870 1Gb by the way games wise:

UT3 using my uber long 9 minute demo and all very high settings as well as 4x box AA and performance AA the fps went up 3 from 64 fps with the 9.5′s to 67 with the 9.6. A good result plus…and this seems to be the case for all games i tried in that the IQ seems better.

Now this is only an observation, i do not have side by side shots but i swear that the image is a lot crisper and more defined with the same settings.

HL2 lost coast also had a gain and the better IQ as did titan quest immortal throne (felt a bit smoother as well as better looking)

Video playback seems on par with the 9.5′s (not surprising when the only difference in this set is the drivers the avivo/hydravison etc are the same as the 9.5′s) so no surprises there.

Anyway worth a shot for anyone game to play :)

As for Xfire and multi card setups i don’t have one so any reports on results would be good :)

review i stumbled in, doesn’t give much but something is better than nothing :)

the list of supported cards reveals a few i have not seen before.

Sims 3 PC Review

08 Jun

Short Review on the recently released Sims 3 for PC

The home of sims 3

Requirements

I play this on 2 computers one witha ATI 4850 and X2 4800 and one with a 9800pro and an old xp 2600.
The 9800 pro does struggle but it is playable.
The 4850 eats the game alive with everything maxxed out, so you do not need a massive system for this.

Question
What are the minimum system requirements for The Sims 3?
Answer

Minimum system requirements for The Sims 3:

Windows XP

Windows XP (Service Pack 2)
2.0 GHz P4 processor or equivalent

2.4 GHz P4 processor or equivalent
1.5 GB RAM
At least 6.5 GB of hard drive space with at least 1 GB additional space for custom content
128 MB video card with support for Pixel Shader 2.0
For computers using built-in graphics chipsets, the game requires at least:

Intel Integrated Chipset, GMA X3000 or above
2.6 GHz Pentium D CPU, or 1.8 GHz Core 2 Duo, or equivalent
0.5 GB additional RAM
Mac System Requirements

Mac OS 10.5.7 Leopard or higher
Intel Core Duo Processor
2 GB of RAM
At least 6.5 free hard drive space, with at least 1GB additional space for custom content
ATI X1600 or Nvidia 7300 GT with 128 MB of Video RAM, or Intel Integrated GMA X3100
Supported video cards: ATI Radeon™ series X1600, X1900, HD 2400, HD 2600, HD 3870, HD 4850, HD 4870; NVIDIA GeForce series 7300, 7600, 8600, 8800, 9400M, 9600M GT, GT 120, GT 130; Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator (GMA) GMA 3-Series. This game will not run on PowerPC (G3/G4/G5) based Mac systems, or the GMA 950 class of integrated video cards. Laptop version of these chipsets may work but are not supported.
Supported Video Cards

NVIDIA GeForce series
FX 5900, FX 5950

Intel® Extreme Graphics
GMA X3x00 series

Laptop versions of these chipsets may work, but may run comparatively slower. Standalone cards that are installed in vanilla PCI slots (not PCIe or PCIx or AGP), such as some GeForce FX variants, will perform poorly. Intel integrated chipsets featuring underclocked parts will not perform adequately.

Integrated chipsets such as the ATI Xpress and the NVIDIA TurboCache variants will have low settings selected, but should run satisfactorily.

The NVIDIA GeForce FX series is unsupported under Vista.

Note: Attempting to play the game using video hardware that isn’t listed above may result in reduced performance, graphical issues or cause the game to not run at all.

gameplay

The game play of Sims 3 is exciting for the fans of their previous games. The controls are in the same style but with new features and the lifestyles if you’r sims are more exciting than ever.

Graphics

The graphics of this game have improved and have a far better look to the last Sims. This latest game gives a more detailed look to you’r sims and also the their suroundings, even the water has a shine to it.

My thoughts

This latest instalment of the Sims saga is in my opinion the best one manly for its more detailed and exotic way of gameplay.
